Overview

We're seeking a talented Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at x15 Ventures, a venture-scaler powered by the Commonwealth Bank. As a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving reliability, scalability, and innovation in our IT infrastructure and Service Management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive reliability, scalability, and innovation in IT infrastructure and Service Management processes
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to support work towards common IT & business strategy for x15
  • Manage complex distributed systems with API design and integration
  • Set up modern DevOps using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
  • Monitor and analyze system performance using tools such as ELK stack
  • Develop and maintain technical key controls including PagerDuty and assurances within our risk platform (xGraph)
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Champion the improvement of monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance issues

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in software engineering with a keen mindset to IT Operations, Systems reliability, versioning, and DevOps
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience with public cloud provisioning using IaC such as Bicep (ARM), Terraform, Cloud Formation, CDK
  • Proven technical experience in managing complex distributed systems with API design and integration
  • Experience in setting up modern DevOps using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of containerization tools - Docker, EKS, ECS
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian dev tools suite (Confluence, JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with Bash and PowerShell scripting
  • Source control, and configuration as code (Ansible, Terraform)
  • AWS, Azure Certification highly regarded
