Competition Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our global Litigation and Regulatory team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on domestic and cross-border competition, consumer law, and regulatory matters.
Main Responsibilities
- Advising clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border competition and regulatory matters, including merger clearance, access issues, and litigation before the Courts, Australian Competition Tribunal, and State-based economic regulators.
- Managing competition and regulatory matters that go to litigation, representing clients before regulators in antitrust investigations, appeals, market studies, and merger control reviews.
- Working closely with our global teams and as a trusted business partner for clients, taking a proactive approach to business development opportunities.
About You
- You will be a qualified Solicitor, ideally qualified in Australia or a Commonwealth jurisdiction, with experience advising clients on domestic and cross-border transactions.
- You will have experience advising on competition, consumer law, and regulatory matters, with a clear understanding of the technical and sectoral issues relevant to our clients.
- You will be able to draft documents using a commercial, client-focused style, with excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working.
- You will provide a professional, quality service in a timely manner, responding effectively to requests from internal and external clients, and building and developing your own network of internal and external contacts.
- You will be proactive and innovative, with awareness of business development initiatives in the department and identifying ways to contribute.
