About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to support and empower individuals and families in Belconnen to develop community-led initiatives that reflect local needs and build capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage and consult with community members, instigate and maintain strong partnerships with agencies, organisations, and community leaders.
  • Utilise networks, employees, and conversations with community to collect and analyse quality data to make informed recommendations and work plans.
  • Identify opportunities for promotion and publicity, working with Marketing and Communications to create engaging content. Organise and support events as required.
  • Develop innovative initiatives that will be owned by the community. Communicate progress and outcomes with management, government, and partners.
  • Facilitates interagency collaboration through networks, and attendance of working groups and community events representing CRCS and Belconnen community.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and 3+ years of demonstrated experience in community development.
  • Experience in community consultation, planning, delivery, and partnership development is essential, as is having a demonstrated understanding of and experience in community development, work planning, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of health promotion, social planning, or related disciplines is desirable.
