Job Description

Our organization is seeking a skilled Data Extraction Specialist to join our team. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position in Adelaide, where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust data extraction processes to facilitate the loading of data from various sources into the data warehouse or other target systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to define, understand, and document business requirements.
  • Design, code, and document complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, using agreed standards and tools, delivering well-engineered results.
  • Identify and manage risks that are likely to affect delivery of system releases.
  • Develop estimates of effort and duration for development tasks, monitor own progress, and continually improve estimating accuracy.
  • Report on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues associated with allocated development tasks.
  • Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to enhance the quality of solution design and to improving solution processes within the organization.
  • Assess data availability and usability, prepare data for analysis, manipulate and model data, communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Work with comprehensive data assets, apply advanced querying techniques, access and query large datasets, follow data privacy and security protocols, resolve data-related challenges, and maintain documentation of data access processes and derivations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Extraction Specialist using DataStage, SQL, TOAD/DB Visualizer, and Data Warehouse environments.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS databases such as DB2, data modeling, and experience in dimensional modeling.
  • Knowledge of DataStage Administrator components and experience using JIRA in an Agile environment.
  • Proven experience in planning and execution of projects.
  • Relevant qualification in information management, ICT, IT, or related discipline.
