Assessment Specialist

Victim Assist Queensland is seeking an experienced Assessment Specialist to join their team on a temporary full-time basis in South Brisbane.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Government Assessor under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 (Section 128) and will be responsible for performing functions as required under the Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake evidence-based decision making in line with legislative intent to provide financial assistance to victims of crime.
  • Provide authoritative advice to administrative officers as required to enable the timely and responsive delivery of services to victims of crime.
  • Responsible for the case-management of applications for financial assistance, including accurate record-keeping, and providing mentoring as required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
