Austin Group Careers is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to lead our product department and drive the end-to-end management of product creation, from design to production.

This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the entire product development process, including design, development, quality assurance, production, and supplier relationship management. As a key member of our team, you will ensure timely and successful delivery of seasonal ranges while maintaining quality, value, and alignment with our target market.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the product department, inspiring and cultivating a high-performing team environment.
  • Oversee the product development process, ensuring clear briefs are provided to suppliers that meet quality standards, fit specifications, and margin targets.
  • Collaborate closely with inventory and planning teams to align on option plans, including BSR, core, and seasonal items.
  • Monitor and manage category costs, balancing quality, margin targets, and commercial goals.
  • Engage directly with factories throughout the product development process, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including planners, product developers, QA, and sourcing teams, managing risks and ensuring timely delivery on the critical path.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and oversee capacity planning across the supply chain.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in product development management, specifically within menswear apparel.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and lead teams effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of fashion trends, item costing, and a successful track record in negotiating high-value supplier partnerships.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines on the critical path.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, able to align production activities with brand objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and management skills with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
