About Space Exploration

Job Overview

This role involves driving the development of analysis tools, applications, and execution pipelines for our team.

  • Create complex software solutions that enable vehicles to be flown efficiently and reliably
  • Lead the design and development of new software projects, focusing on performance and efficiency
  • Review existing tools and processes, driving improvements to make them more efficient or reliable

We are seeking a strong background in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or a scientific discipline. Two years of experience in software engineering is required, along with a solid understanding of Python and Python-based development frameworks. Additionally, you should have experience with orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, classical dynamics, modeling, robotics, or simulation.

A professional or academic background in physics and/or experience with software related to the physical world is beneficial. Strong competency in software development practices, including testing and continuous integration, is essential. Experience working directly on engineering or scientific computing problems, educational or professional background in Guidance, Navigation, and Control, and demonstrated project or professional experience in launch vehicle and/or spacecraft systems are highly desirable.
