Job Role: Cable Installation Specialist

The Cable Installation Specialist plays a pivotal role in the installation of Optic Fibre cables for various networks on major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hauling and quality checks of multiple cables using hand and machinery equipment.
  • Civil activities including repair of blockages, operation of plant and equipment such as dozers, excavators, vacuum trucks, winches, mobile cranes and HR trucks.
  • Labouring duties including cutting and repairing fences, excavation using hand and mechanical methods.
Work Environment:

This position requires extensive travel and working away from home on a 21-day on/7-day off roster. The specialist will work in rural areas across NSW and be required to work 10–12-hour days. A generous living allowance is provided while travelling, along with working alongside an inclusive site team.

Team members often bring their own caravans to sleep in due to limited local accommodation.

Requirements:
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A current Construction White card.
  • Having any of the following tickets is beneficial but not essential:
  • A valid HR Heavy Rigid truck license.
  • An Operator & VOC Excavator ticket.
  • An Operator & VOC Dozer ticket.
  • A Pit, Pipe & Cable Hauling course certificate.
  • A current senior first aid certificate.
  • A current Level 2 traffic management implementation coarse certificate.
  • A Work safety at heights certificate.
  • An Asbestos awareness certificate.
  • A High Risk License.
  • A Vehicle loading crane ticket.
