Aboriginal Cadet Community Health Ambassador

This is a unique opportunity to embark on a meaningful career in Environmental Health as an Aboriginal Cadet.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with inspections of food businesses, public swimming pools and spas, cooling towers, caravan parks and skin penetration premises such as beauty salons and tattoo studios.
- Support the team with development applications and environmental assessments.
- Help respond to community requests about air, noise, water, contaminated land and waste issues.
- Participate in health promotion activities and local community events.
- Learn how to maintain accurate records and write basic reports.
- Develop understanding of public health and environmental laws.
- Contribute to delivering great outcomes through exceptional customer service.
As a cadet, no previous experience is required. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander with a genuine interest in health, science or the environment, along with the motivation to learn and grow.
Key Qualifications include being a good communicator, reliable team player, organised and comfortable working both indoors and out in the field. You must also be eligible for and committed to completing a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University over a 6-year period.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience while studying and earning a wage. It's a unique chance to work on Country, support your community's wellbeing, and grow professionally with strong guidance and support from our experienced team.
