Volunteer Board Directors are sought to join the RDA TE Board, a not-for-profit community association providing equestrian-based activities for people of all abilities across greater Darwin and Palmerston.

  • A Director will play a critical part in guiding RDA TE's governance, strategy and future direction.

The Board works collaboratively to ensure sound decision-making, compliance with statutory obligations and alignment with organisational values. Regular meetings, active contribution to committees or working groups, and ambassadorial representation in the broader community are expected.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and contribute to effective governance.
  • Support the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in Board discussions and decision-making.
  • Contribute expertise to sub-committees or special projects.
  • Represent and promote RDA TE to stakeholders and the wider community.

Requirements:

  • Previous governance or leadership experience in not-for-profit, community or business settings.
  • Financial, legal, marketing, fundraising, education, health, disability or equestrian knowledge will be highly regarded.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and respect for people of all abilities.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute constructively in a Board environment.
  • Capacity to commit the necessary time to meetings, preparation and community engagement.
  • A collaborative and respectful approach consistent with RDA TE's culture.
