About the Role:

Cement Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Control Room Operator to join our team in Gladstone. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the cement manufacturing process, ensuring optimal production rates and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control the central control room systems, including equipment commissioning, startups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management.
  • Maintain continuous observation of all operation condition indications and trends, responding with appropriate action to achieve optimum outputs and process stability.
  • Coordinate with Production Process Operators and Shift Team Leaders to ensure effective running of the plant.
  • Act on control system alarms and escalate to plant resources to troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain plant equipment as required.
  • Monitor and maintain emissions levels below baseline compliance levels.
  • Perform general housekeeping activities as needed.
About You:

To be eligible for this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Control Room Operator/CRR in cement manufacturing process.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in the cement industry.
  • Certificate-level qualifications or higher in a related area are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all available production tools, including operating procedures, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  • The ability to use critical thinking and sound judgment in quick decision-making.
  • Complex problem-solving skills, demonstrated through success in a central control room.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and maintain quality decision-making skills.
  • An elevated level of computer literacy skills and ability to operate job-related systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
