Facilities Maintenance Specialist

This role will be directly responsible for inspecting facilities, determining problems, and preparing weekly maintenance schedules. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will manage required works and follow up with contractors to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.

 

The successful candidate will ensure all employees and contractors adhere to operational procedures while maintaining a positive safety culture. This involves overall responsibility for handling, managing, inspecting, and maintaining facility equipment and processes.

 

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective management of people and processes.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance to laws, guidelines, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Demonstrating exemplary safety leadership behaviors and monitoring HSE & QA programs.
  • Managing relationships with key customers, WorkSafe, DG authorities, EPA, PACIA, and professional peers.
  • Controlling risks from operations to minimize effects on people, community, and environment.
  • Assisting in maintaining a strong audit program in line with TCL's Quality and BMS requirements.
  • Upholding a safe working environment by adhering to established safety protocols.

 

Requirements for success include:

  • Experience in transport, logistics, or related industry with a focus on compliance.
  • Exposure and knowledge relating to regulators and Australian standards around legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice within a Major Hazard Facility.
  • Management and leadership skills, including good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment).
