Maintenance and Repair Specialist Opportunity

Due to business growth, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance and Repair Specialist to join our team on a full-time contract.

This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of facilities by performing various maintenance and repair tasks.

  • Perform general maintenance and minor repairs across plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and other facility-related issues.
  • Carry out repairs to fixtures, doors, windows, floors, and walls.
  • Patch and paint walls and surfaces to maintain a clean environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with building systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure a safe living environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly store tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any necessary repairs to management.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards or areas requiring attention.
- Collaborate with staff to support a safe environment for residents.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes, particularly for aged care facilities.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a handyperson, tradesperson, or in a similar maintenance role.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and techniques across various trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Understanding of safety standards and regulations in aged care facilities.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
