Aviation Maintenance Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Engineer with a proven track record in leadership and management. As Manager External Maintenance - Line, you will be responsible for overseeing the outsourced Line Maintenance operations, including vendor performance, disruption management, defect monitoring, and compliance control.

The role involves supervising a team and taking responsibility for all accountabilities associated with training, rostering, admin, and performance management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and complying with OHS and safety standards
  • Managing External Maintenance vendor performance in accordance with contractual and business requirements
  • Communicating supplier performance to senior executives
  • Assisting in the management of AOG aircraft recovery in external MRO/AMO ports as required
  • Leading the addition and onboarding of new line maintenance vendors to support the growing demand across the network
  • Allocating manpower to support Line Maintenance in various external locations as required
  • Providing regulatory and compliance oversight of Jetstar External Line Maintenance
  • Supporting external AMOs in the development and management of their Safety Management Systems
  • Guiding and providing oversight to your team of direct reports
  • Facilitating process improvement via assignment of project responsibilities to direct reports
  • Ensuring accurate departmental reporting is provided
  • Assisting Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Programs, Technical Services, Fleet Managers with process control and implementation
  • Representing CAMO External Maintenance interests in broader company operational initiatives
  • Management of Airworthiness Maintenance Procedures Manual

In order to succeed in this role, you will require:

  • LAME/AME or tertiary qualifications in Aviation/Engineering/Management
  • Understanding and/or demonstrated knowledge of PART 145 / 42 regulatory frameworks
  • The ability to work autonomously while taking responsibility for and mentoring a team of direct reports
  • Strong leadership, people, and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of the organization and deal professionally with external parties
