Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

The Procurement Officer plays a vital role in driving business success through strategic procurement and contract management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, determine, and address stakeholder needs regarding procurement requests to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Develop and review procurement guidance resources, operational policies, and procedures to align with industry best practices.
  • Implement evidence-based procurement planning processes that promote efficiency and value for money from procurement activities.
  • Lead the end-to-end tender and procurement process for allocated activities, providing high-level advice and preparing documents.
  • Establish and manage supplier relationships, engaging vendors and suppliers as required, to ensure continuity, diversity, and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Participate in training opportunities and stay up-to-date on current issues in procurement and contemporary practices.
  • Act as Probity Advisor, advising staff on correct procedures and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the Director to ensure record keeping practices comply with relevant policies and procedures.

Essential Skills:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including written communication and consultative abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with professionals to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to analyze and report data to provide insights and demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of procurement processes and associated legislation.
  • Contract management requirements, processes, and best practice knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum [X] years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, policies, and practices.
