We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Care Specialist to join our dynamic team in a 24-bed Cardiothoracic & Cardiology ward. Our ideal candidate will provide expert care for patients with varying complexities of cardiology and cardiothoracic needs, including pre and postoperative coronary angiograms +/- stents, PPM's, ICD's, EPS +/- ablations, PVI, VATS +/- anatomical resections, pleurodesis, biopsies.

About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in mentoring and educating colleagues, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and performing duties under the guidance of the Department Manager, Team and Shift Leaders.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • You must be currently registered with AHPRA.
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years recent Cardiology experience working in a ward/unit of this specialty.
  • You should be able to interpret complex ECGs and escalate clinical needs accordingly.
  • You should have extensive experience in managing and teaching about cardiology specific concepts.
  • You should be confident in troubleshooting and escalating the complex needs of Cardiology patients.
  • You should have a passion for mentoring and educating nursing staff within the cardiothoracic setting.
  • You should be accredited in Advanced Life Support.
  • You should hold postgraduate qualifications in Critical Care (cardiac) or be working towards it.
