About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Philip Kennedy Centre, working within a large supportive Residential Care team.

As a Registered Nurse with Southern Cross Care, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents, providing high-quality nursing care and promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan
  • Leading and promoting social and physical engagement in all resident interactions
  • Assessing resident's condition and functional ability and ensuring risks are identified, managed and evaluated
  • Ensuring optimal use of medications and monitoring for adverse effects
  • Providing leadership, direction, support, mentoring and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance and Administration staff on each shift

About You

We are looking for individuals who share our values and are passionate about delivering exceptional care and service to our residents. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand
  • Exceptional time management skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines and to support other staff
  • Ongoing problem-solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self-determination against potential risks and duty of care
