Key Responsibilities
  • Event Analysis and Incident Triage: Perform SIEM-based event analysis and incident triage, coordinating and managing security incidents and projects, remotely and onsite, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Threat Hunting and Vulnerability Assessment: Lead and coordinate threat hunting activities, perform and lead vulnerability assessment activities, and develop new detection capabilities and concepts through the creation and tuning of alerts.
  • End-to-End Support: Provide end-to-end support for customer and internal systems.
  • Operational Support and Project Delivery: Offer operational support and project delivery with clients, taking the initiative to drive improvement and deliver successful outcomes for customers.
  • Security Communication: Communicate security issues to internal and client audiences.
  • Mentoring and Guidance: Provide mentoring and operational guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Cross-Pollination and Collaboration: Collaborate across our organisation, identifying ways to add value, facilitate communication, partnerships, and cross-pollination across the business to allow teams to better engage and service customers.
About You
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Hold a tertiary qualification in information technology or a related field (preferred).
  • Industry-Recognised Certifications: Possess industry-recognised certifications such as SANS, OSCP, ISC2 (preferred). Suitable vendor certifications preferred.
  • Operational Security Experience: Have a minimum of 1 year's experience in an operational security role.
  • Security and Analytical Concepts: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of security and analytical concepts.
  • Incident Response and Management: Have experience with incident response and incident management methodologies.
  • IT Security Operations: Have exposure to IT security operations in a large or complex organisation.
  • IT Security Tools and Controls: Have in-depth experience or understanding of IT security tools and controls including SIEM, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, WAF (preferred).
  • Australian Citizenship and Security Clearance: Be an Australian citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Australian Defence Force Members: Current and ex-serving ADF members are encouraged to apply.
