Position Overview
We are looking for a Lead Civil Engineering Specialist to join our Community Development team. This role involves managing civil design and documentation for a diverse range of urban, land, and subdivision projects across both public and private sectors. You will work with a broad regional client base, addressing design challenges, coordinating project efforts, and collaborating with various disciplines to deliver successful outcomes with the support of a multi-disciplinary team.
The Lead Civil Engineering Specialist will also play a key role in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities, while actively engaging in client service by building and maintaining strong relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, coordination, and management of urban, land, and subdivision projects from initial feasibility to construction.
- Develop technical reports and specifications.
- Provide expert technical guidance to clients and support project initiatives.
- Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
- Facilitate coordination among various disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
- Prepare and review proposals, variation estimates, and submission documents.
- Contribute to the enhancement of Stantec's civil engineering knowledge and capabilities, including planning, design, and construction practices.
- Foster and maintain trusted relationships with key clients.
- Assist in securing and delivering projects through proactive business development and client relationship management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design and project delivery, particularly in urban, land, and subdivision contexts.
- Strong understanding of contemporary civil engineering technologies, including design, modeling, and construction methodologies.
- Effective project management skills.
- Business development acumen, along with local industry knowledge and connections.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in report writing.
