We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Governance Lead to join our team at the NSW Government. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and implementing effective governance practices across the department and cluster agencies.

Company Overview

The Cabinet Office is responsible for enabling robust Cabinet decision-making by ensuring policies and proposals submitted for consideration are of the highest quality and in line with government priorities.

We lead policy, strategy, and integrity at the heart of government, working closely with the Premier's Department to drive continuous improvement in governance across the state.

Job Description

As our new Strategic Governance Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing corporate governance initiatives to mitigate risks and strengthen governance processes
  • Providing expert advice, reporting, and strategic guidance to internal and external stakeholders
  • SUPPORTING high-quality decision-making and driving continuous improvement in governance across the department and cluster agencies
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and compliance within the public sector
  • Extensive experience in managing complex governance projects and providing high-level strategic advice
  • Holds relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience
  • A proven track record in policy development, audit, and risk processes, and driving governance improvements
