About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned communications professional to join our Corporate Affairs team as a Head of Communications. This is a 9-month parental leave cover contract opportunity.

As our Head of Communications, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of our internal and external communications strategy across earned, owned, and paid media. You will partner with stakeholders across the business on all communications matters and play a key role in our presence at the 2025 Avalon Airshow.

This role spans the full range of comms, from strategic planning with the executive and senior leaders to hands-on tasks such as writing communications material and working with journalists to secure media coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effecting change across the business in partnership with the Corporate Affairs Director;
  • Driving employee engagement through a range of internal communications and events, and partnering with HR to develop and deliver proactive attraction and retention strategies;
  • Building our external presence and reputation through earned, owned, and paid channels;
  • Supporting our presence at external events, particularly the 2025 Avalon Airshow.

About You

You are a seasoned communications professional with a minimum of five years' experience in a challenging corporate environment.

You have proven results forming and executing internal and external communications strategies. You have demonstrable experience in driving reputation through earned, owned, and paid media, particularly securing PR coverage.

You have knowledge of employer branding and have strong stakeholder engagement skills working with a range of functional leaders. You will work with all levels of the business from our CEO to front lines, so you must thrive when delivering end-to-end work from strategic to operational.
