The role of a Learning Assistant is pivotal in supporting students with additional needs at our college.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing teaching and learning strategies to enhance student learning, including one-on-one or small group instruction, cooperative learning, scaffolding, modelling, and worked examples, enables us to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Collaboration with the class teacher is essential to reinforce classroom teaching and assist students with organisation, social competence, accessing activities, and appropriate behaviour.
  • Supervising the class allows the teacher to provide targeted support to students who have additional needs.

This position involves working under the direction of a teacher and primarily supporting students with neurological and learning disorders, physical disabilities, and behavioural disorders. Your experience and skills will be valuable assets in helping our students reach their full potential.

We are seeking applicants for Learning Assistant positions on a full-time and/or part-time basis, working only on student days. Ongoing contracts may be available depending on the applicant's circumstances/experience. The specific details of the position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
