Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Leadership Specialist

This is a senior leadership role that provides cultural guidance and oversight in the delivery of high-quality services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
The First Nations Practice Lead will contribute to organisational initiatives, provide cultural knowledge and supervision, and lead the continuous improvement of our cultural clinical capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing First Nations initiatives and workplans in partnership with leadership teams
- Representing us in relevant First Nations networks and attending Relationships Australia's National Indigenous Network (RAIN) meetings
- Providing cultural supervision to First Nations staff and cultural case consultation and support to non-First Nations staff to build cultural capability
- Supporting the development and delivery of cultural fitness training across the organisation
- Analysing and interpreting client and program data to ensure evidence-based practices that improve outcomes for First Nations clients
To thrive in this role, you are an inspirational and culturally grounded leader who is deeply committed to improving outcomes for First Nations peoples. You bring both lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and professional expertise in facilitating cultural knowledge, practice development, and workforce capability building.
Key qualifications include:
- Lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- Relevant undergraduate qualifications in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, cultures, and service needs
- Experience communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
