About the Role
The Sustainable Landscapes Officer is responsible for soil sampling and gathering pre-sampling information in accordance with national soil monitoring sampling procedures. This role provides high-level advice on testing and monitoring of soils, and interpreting soil test data to support best practice land management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting soil sampling and gathering pre-sampling information
  • Providing high-level advice on testing and monitoring of soils
  • Interpreting soil test data
  • Collaborating with farming system groups, industry groups, and land managers

Working Arrangements
  • Position based at Mount Gambier or Naracoorte
  • Current minimum class C driver's licence and willingness/ability to safely operate a 4WD required
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory criminal history check
  • Opportunity to participate in fire management or associated duties
  • Sometimes out-of-hours work and intrastate travel involving overnight absences from home may be required
  • Required to work alone in a field environment, including working in adverse weather conditions from time to time
