Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insolvency Professional to fill the role of National Technical Director. This is a part-time, non-client facing position that will work alongside our Managing Directors and Registered Liquidators within the Restructuring & Turnaround team.

Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring compliance tools, policies and procedures remain current with Australia's insolvency laws and practice. You will also oversee and facilitate staff training to ensure continual professional development of the team of insolvency practitioners.

Additionally, you will manage a team of treasury personnel who support the accounting compliance function. You will be responsible for developing their understanding of insolvency laws and practice.

As National Technical Director, you will play a key role in shaping our industry and contributing to the team environment. You will have the opportunity to mentor and develop junior insolvency professionals, including graduates.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a team. You will also need a keen interest in legal technical detail and a desire to contribute to the team environment. Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

- A professionally qualified accountant (CA or CPA) with more than 10 years' experience in restructuring

- Strong understanding of Australia's insolvency laws (both legislative and case law)

- Strong understanding of applicable professional standards (APES) and ARITA's COPP

- Keen interest in legal technical detail

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a team

- Ability to mentor and develop junior insolvency professionals Benefits
