Financial Compliance Specialist
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions is seeking a Financial Compliance Specialist to assist in the development, implementation and support of financial assurance activities. This role will provide financial compliance advice and implement strategies to improve internal control mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain compliance monitoring frameworks in line with financial management policies and guidelines.
- Conduct regular reporting against the Financial Management Compliance Framework and actively manage relevant issues.
- Undertake activities underpinning internal control mechanisms according to an agreed annual program of work.
- Provide informed compliance advice and complete compliance activities and reporting within established timelines.
- Assist in providing and preparing advice on compliance of financial policies and procedures to senior management as required.
- Contribute to the provision of financial analysis and advice on complex accounting and assurance policies, transactions, concepts and issues to senior management.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement and continuously improve financial governance, risk and internal control frameworks, and compliance activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced financial compliance skills and demonstrated experience in providing expert financial policy, procedure and financial compliance advice and services.
- Ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders and use organisational context to ensure positive outcomes are achieved for all parties.
- Proactive and self-starting, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
