Consultant Psychiatrist in Women's Mental Health

The role of Consultant Psychiatrist in Women's Mental Health is to provide expert psychiatric care to women who are inpatients or outpatients with mental health problems.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar setting and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with mental health problems
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations to determine the best course of treatment for each patient
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a registered medical practitioner with AHPRA
  • Have at least 18 months experience working as a junior doctor in a public teaching hospital
  • Have worked in an emergency setting, such as an emergency department
  • Have demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently (with supervision)
