We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Local Area Coordinator to join our team at Feros Care. As a Local Area Coordinator, you will play a vital role in empowering people with disability to live bold and independent lives.

About the Role:

As a Local Area Coordinator, you will be the heartbeat of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) in your local community. You will work closely with people with disability and their families to access and navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Your role will involve supporting individuals to develop goal-based, individualised plans that cater to their strengths, skills, and interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting people with a disability to develop and implement individualised plans that promote their independence and well-being
  • Guiding and assisting people with a disability to build capacity and explore options for self-direction, self-management, and self-advocacy
  • Providing people with a disability and their families with information and support to access mainstream services and participate in the community
  • Building and maintaining positive partnerships within the wider community to refer participants to a diverse range of community and other government services
