The Asia-Pacific division encompasses Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Singapore, employing nearly 3000 dedicated team members.

Position Overview

As we embark on our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are seeking to appoint an afternoon Shift Manager (Wednesday to Saturday roster) to enhance our operations at the Laverton facility in Melbourne.

This role is set in a dynamic, fast-paced retail services environment where your primary responsibility will be to ensure the site operates safely, compliantly, profitably, and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exemplary service to customers from the warehouse to delivery across a 24/7 retail logistics operation.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Relationship Manager to meet agreed customer service levels.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage costs actively, driving efficiencies and reductions to maximize value extraction against contract requirements.
  • Contribute to the senior leadership team by assisting in the development of strategies and operational methods to support consistent performance.
  • Determine hourly, daily, and weekly labor and equipment needs to align with workloads while adhering to legal and industrial relations frameworks.
Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably within the logistics or transport industry.
  • A background in retail logistics within a distribution center or a fast-paced FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing multi-temperature operations.
  • Qualifications in Logistics Management or a related business discipline, along with equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with experience managing a sizable operational team.
  • Familiarity with transport and route distribution is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of profit and loss, along with key performance indicators that influence storage, handling, and distribution costs.
  • Insight into labor cost control and improvement, as well as the relationship between labor and handling revenue.
