Advanced Clinician Job Summary

This role plays a crucial part in the Flow Improvement Services Medicine (FISM) team at Ipswich Hospital, supporting existing General Medicine teams. FISM is a new multidisciplinary service providing comprehensive, quality patient-centred care to ensure efficient patient flow throughout a patient's hospital admission and facilitating timely, well-coordinated and safe discharge.

The purpose of this role is to deliver advanced Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy clinical services and leadership within FISM across the multidisciplinary team within the Division of Medicine. The role serves as a reference point for others across West Moreton Health.

  • Contemporary specialist-level knowledge and skills in acute inpatient services within one or more areas of clinical practice in the relevant discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment and senior management to influence a clinical or service outcome. This includes communicating effectively and working collaboratively with other Allied Health leaders, Professional Leads and operational managers across disciplines and service groups to support West Moreton Health in achieving its aims and objectives.
  • Ability to independently manage highly complex clinical caseloads.
  • Ability to lead quality and service improvement activities that result in improved outcomes for patients/customers and/or the organisation.

Vaccination against certain vaccine preventable diseases is required.
