Job Description:

Director, Strategic Workforce Planning

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to drive the development of our workforce planning capability. The Director of Strategic Workforce Planning will be responsible for designing and implementing a future-focused, data-driven approach that aligns talent strategies with business and financial forecasts.

This role will play a critical part in ensuring we have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders across People, Finance, and Business functions to drive productivity, workforce agility, and capability-based planning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading end-to-end workforce planning initiatives in large, matrixed organizations. They will possess expertise in Anaplan, Workday, and workforce analytics tools, as well as experience influencing senior leaders to adopt enterprise-wide change.

This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to shape a capability that has not yet been developed at ResMed. If you're passionate about driving strategic alignment, operational impact, and scalable practices, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning Leadership
    • Design and globally roll out ResMed's SWP framework aligned to enterprise strategy, financial planning, and AOP cycles.
    • Translate strategic plans into actionable workforce levers (build, buy, borrow, bot).
    • Institutionalize workforce planning as a core business capability through playbooks, leader enablement, and planning routines.
  • Integrated Capability & Ecosystem Planning
    • Build and apply skills-based workforce plans using capability models, role adjacencies, and upskilling strategies.
    • Account for the total workforce mix - permanent, contingent, gig, and partner-based roles.
    • Lead scenario modeling to prepare for market shifts, regulatory changes, and workforce disruption.
  • Technology, Data & Analytics
    • Partner with HRIS and People Analytics to enhance Workday, Anaplan, and Tableau for real-time planning.
    • Ensure data accuracy and governance while driving adoption of predictive analytics and automation impact models.
    • Integrate workforce metrics into executive dashboards and enterprise decision cycles.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Location Strategy
    • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Real Estate, and other COEs to align workforce supply/demand with operational and geographic priorities.
    • Guide shared services and location strategy decisions through workforce insights, cost modeling, and long-range planning.
  • Change, DEI & ESG Alignment
    • Lead change efforts to embed SWP across teams and functions.
    • Ensure workforce plans support ResMed's inclusion, sustainability, and social impact goals.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years in HR, workforce planning, or strategic operations with global or extended regional exposure.
  • Proven success leading end-to-end workforce planning in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to convert strategy into operational plans.
  • Expertise in Anaplan, Workday, and workforce analytics tools.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders to adopt enterprise-wide change.
