The Lifestyle Group Supervisor role is a rewarding opportunity to lead social support groups for older adults. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating group activities that promote independent living and social interaction.
This role provides valuable interactions and care to participants, enabling the development of real connections with clients. The Lifestyle Group Supervisor will plan and coordinate client-driven activities that are diverse and appropriate to each group program.
Liaise with clients and carers regarding their well-being and monitor and document clients' activities and attendance regularly. Lead group activities including transportation to and from homes and community-based outings.
Closely supervise all clients in the group, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times. Liaise with carers, families, and other health workers after consultation with Co-ordinator/Clinical Lead to provide holistic support.
Direct support workers on client-specific tasks daily. Meet with the Wellness & Social Support Co coordinator and/or Clinical Lead quarterly to discuss the program and client list.
About YouDemonstrated experience working with adult clients is required. A minimum qualification of Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is necessary.
Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or equivalent is desirable. Experience working within an aged care/community health setting is also preferred.
Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded. An understanding of the Aged Care sector and/or experience working with Aged Care clients is beneficial.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to liaise with various individuals, including clients, volunteers, and staff.
A strong client focus and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a range of participants is crucial. Exceptional record-keeping and database management skills are also necessary.
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is vital. Strong professional ethics, including the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in sensitive matters, are essential.
A flexible approach that is responsive and innovative is necessary. Understanding and commitment to person-centred care and client-driven services are also important.
Experience working within an aged care/community health setting and handling client fees and program money are desirable.
A current Victorian Driver's Licence and willingness to drive a 11 seater bus are also required.
