Job Title: Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the NSW Government. The successful candidate will provide culturally sensitive and holistic care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with severe mental illness, ensuring a successful transition from custody to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general case management and discipline-specific skills to ensure appropriate access to mental health care and cultural and psychosocial supports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including primary health networks, community mental health services, and government and non-government organizations
• Develop mental health care plans and establish necessary therapeutic and cultural supports

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or higher relative to role
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Occupational Therapy or Psychology professions, or eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Work
• Current unrestricted authority to practice as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who has at least three years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in mental health
