Job Title:

Subcontract Manager


Job Description:

The role of Subcontract Manager involves overseeing the establishment, placement and management of contracting arrangements with suppliers to deliver cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements. This includes leading supplier evaluation processes, negotiating contracts and managing commercial subcontract meetings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead supplier evaluations and sourcing recommendations.
  • Negotiate contracts and finalise agreements.
  • Manage commercial subcontract meetings and attend operational subcontract meetings.
  • Conduct all subcontract related matters including progress claims, payment valuations, warranties, notices, variations and contract amendments.
  • Monitor and report on subcontractor forecasts of cost and value.
  • Lead, manage and develop team members.
  • Act as interface with Commercial Manager to ensure alignment between head contract and subcontracts.

About You:
  • Prior defence experience is considered an advantage.
  • Completion of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) would be advantageous in this position.
  • Strong commercial/legal skills and acumen with a proven capability in contract negotiation and contract management.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside their immediate team.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships in a project environment.
