Job Overview

This role supports families where a parent has a mental illness, with a focus on improving outcomes for consumers who are parents, their children, and their families.

The position works closely with network partners to improve their response to families where a parent has a mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to provision of a whole-of-family approach to service delivery
  • Work closely with other professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for families

Part-time applications will be considered for this role, with shifts rostered in business hours – Monday to Friday.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Certificate IV in Community Development or equivalent
  • Knowledge of young caring roles and the impact on carers' health and wellbeing
  • Knowledge of mental health and other community service delivery systems
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to family-inclusive practice and maximising opportunities and support for children, young people and families
  • Understanding of the dynamics and risks of family violence
  • Understanding of confidentiality, consent, and information sharing legislation
  • Previous experience in the Mental Health Sector
