Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Infrastructure Specialist to join our team and assist with infrastructure assignments for public and private-sector clients. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including rail and transit systems, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rail Infrastructure Design: Design rail infrastructure, including track and alignment design, to ensure safe and efficient transportation systems.
  • Engineering Design Plans: Prepare detailed engineering design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for rail infrastructure projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage as part of large multidisciplinary teams to review design documents for consistency and coordination.
  • Client Communication: Engage in verbal and written communications with clients, contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure project success.
  • Technical Software: Set up common data environments, utilize collaboration techniques for information management, and implement Building Information Modelling (BIM) for rail infrastructure projects.
  • Training and Development: Train team members in technical software and collaboration tools, design coordination workflows, and best practices.
  • Proposal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of proposals for rail infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Professional Certification: Registered Professional Engineer in good standing or the ability to obtain a P.E. within 12 months.
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years progressive design experience in rail alignment and trackwork design for transit systems, including subway and LRT.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using AutoDesk (Civil 3D) and/or Bentley (Bentley Rail Track, OpenRail) Software Design Packages, strong written and communication skills.
  • Preferred Attributes: Previous experience working on Bus Rapid Transit systems, experience in rail alignment and trackwork design for Class I Railways, proactive self-starter, flexible and able to adapt and learn, confident and positive attitude, ability to build and harbor good working relationships with business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients, desire and flexibility to travel.
