Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician

This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced mental health professionals to provide specialist support to young people and their families.

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in-reach team offers consultation and liaison services for children and young people experiencing mental health issues.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing assessment, consultation-liaison, short-term interventions, and collaborative care planning with children, young people, their parents/caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment and consultation-liaison services for children and young people experiencing mental health problems
  • Develop and implement short-term evidence-based interventions
  • Collaborate with CYMHS, drug and alcohol services, and other relevant organizations to facilitate early intervention and ongoing community treatment
  • Offer advice and professional development to healthcare staff to enhance capacity in caring for children and young people
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in clinical discipline
  • Full registration with AHPRA or membership of AASW for Social Workers
  • Allied Health Professionals require minimum experience as a Level 2
  • Clinical Nurse Consultants require minimum five years full-time postgraduate experience with three years full-time equivalent experience in Mental Health
  • Clinical Psychologists must hold a Master's degree or higher
  • Senior Clinical Psychologists must have completed at least 12 months service at the 5th year of service as a Clinical Psychologist
