Job Title: Mental Health Support Specialist

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will work with individuals and communities who have been affected by mental health issues, providing support, information, and linkage to mental health services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

* Work with clients to understand their needs and develop personalized support plans

* Provide education and training on mental health topics, including early intervention and prevention strategies

* Facilitate group and individual peer support sessions, promoting social connections and community engagement

* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination

 

Requirements:

* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent) or willingness to complete same within 12 months

* Lived experience in accessing mental health support for self or others, with a strong understanding of recovery principles

* Demonstrated knowledge of rural and remote communities, including the impact of mental health issues on individuals and communities

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
