About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Mineral Resources as a Financial Reporting Specialist. As a key member of our Corporate Finance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of our business units and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the General Ledger and sub-ledgers for allocated business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Ensure the Fixed Asset register is up-to-date, including timely capitalisations and disposals, and apply appropriate depreciation methods.
  • Collaborate with Operations to deliver monthly reports (Management and Capex) and provide insightful analysis.
  • Work with the Commercial Team to ensure project finances align with commercial expectations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and budget variance analysis, with general/operations managers.
  • Develop and maintain Business Intelligence tools/dashboards and data analytics.
  • Analyse and understand the financial and operational drivers of results.
  • Drive continuous improvement in management accounting, ensuring ongoing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare budgets and periodic rolling forecasts as required.
  • Assist with audit work papers and liaise with auditors to address their queries during half-yearly and annual audits.
  • Comply with the monthly reporting timetable.
  • Provide support to the Corporate Finance Team as needed, including input to statutory accounts, returns, and tax-related matters.
Requirements
  • Tertiary degree in Accounting.
  • Completed CA/CPA qualification.
  • Experience in a range of accounting activities, including general accounting, financial analysis, audit, and management reporting.
  • High-level competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Previous experience working in operational finance in mining or contracting services is desirable.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to apply it practically in our industry.
  • Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and negotiating skills.
