Primary Healthcare Practitioner

This role is focused on providing high-quality, culturally responsive primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a primary healthcare setting and be passionate about closing the gap in Aboriginal health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe and responsive primary healthcare aligned with our model of care.
  • Conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, and clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe medications under established protocols and collaborate across departments and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead quality improvement activities and participate in clinical governance practices.
Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must hold current registration as a nurse practitioner and have demonstrated experience in a primary healthcare setting. Additionally, qualifications such as working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, triage expertise, ongoing care management, cultural humility, and willingness to learn in an Aboriginal health context are highly regarded.
