Shutdown Controller Role

The Shutdown Controller is accountable for ensuring shutdown duration accuracy and compliance with standards.

You will be the primary interface between operations and planning teams, ensuring clear communication throughout the shutdown process.

The Shutdown Controller ensures shutdown plans are executed efficiently and effectively, within allocated resources.

  • Management of shutdown schedules and governance of yearly budgeted hours.
  • Budget compliance for shutdown outage duration and cost.
  • Analysis of work management performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement initiatives.
  • Interface between site and MECoE specific to shutdown outage information and readiness activities.
  • Liaison with operations and maintenance teams to validate scope and gather feedback.
  • Organisation and facilitation of post outage review meetings.
  • Collaboration with contractors for various activities such as mobilisation, task execution, close out and demobilisation.
  • Improvement of shutdown plans through liaison with planners and supervisors.
  • Ensuring schedule updates during execution to reflect performance against plan.
  • Analysis and escalation of gaps in S26 job/area owners' time confirmations.
  • Responsible for shutdown activities escalation to shutdown superintendent.
