We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Mental Health Service as a Liaison.

About the Role

This role involves working closely with psychiatrists and psychologists to provide support to women experiencing mental health issues. You will be pivotal in triaging all outpatient referrals, connecting women with internal mental health services or external providers for management/treatment/support of their current mental health issue.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Women's Mental Health Service, Social Work, Badjurr-Bulok Wilam - our Aboriginal Health Liaison Service, Family Accommodation, Spiritual Care, Women's Alcohol and Drug Services, and highly specialised services focused on violence against women.

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Triage all outpatient referrals and connect women with appropriate mental health services.
  2. Provide support to staff round the care of complex inpatient and outpatient presentations.
  3. Be actively involved in education for non-mental health colleagues.

To be successful in this role you will need strong knowledge and understanding of mental health issues within the maternity and/or women's health setting. A postgraduate qualification in mental health (nursing, psychology, allied health) or equivalent experience is required.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop new systems of multidisciplinary care across the Social Model of Health Division.
