Software Development and Cybersecurity Lecturer

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our dynamic team as a Software Development and Cybersecurity Lecturer. As an expert in software development, cybersecurity, and education, you will inspire students to excel academically, enrich their learning experience, and prepare them for thriving careers in the field.

About the Role
  • This role involves delivering engaging lectures and practical workshops that equip students with cutting-edge skills in software development and cybersecurity.
  • You will provide personalized academic support, mentoring, and guidance to students through their projects, offering constructive feedback to foster innovation and technical proficiency.
  • Contribute to the design and development of accredited higher education curriculum, ensuring it meets standards and industry trends, collaborating with industry professionals to integrate emerging technologies and techniques into course content.
  • Actively promote SAE's achievements, students, and staff within the professional community to strengthen the Institute's profile, engaging with the wider industry to maintain strong connections to current practices and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver lectures and practical workshops on software development and cybersecurity fundamentals, including programming languages, data structures, algorithms, computer networks, and security principles.
  2. Develop and implement curricula, syllabi, and assessments for software development and cybersecurity courses, aligning with industry standards and best practices.
  3. Mentor and guide students through group and individual projects, providing constructive feedback to foster innovation and technical proficiency.
  4. Collaborate with industry professionals to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and techniques, integrating them into course content to ensure students gain relevant skills and knowledge.
  5. Promote SAE's achievements, students, and staff within the professional community, engaging with the wider industry to maintain strong connections and opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • A postgraduate qualification, Masters level (or higher), in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A high level of professional industry practice or academic experience in software development and cybersecurity.
  • Teaching or training experience in higher education or professional environments.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Technical expertise in programming languages, data structures, algorithms, computer networks, and security principles.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively and guide students through practical exercises.
