Job Description

Join SAE's dynamic and creative team, where your expertise will shape the future of technology education. As a Lecturer in our Computer Science Courses, you will inspire students to excel academically, enrich their learning experience, and prepare them for thriving careers in their field of study.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver engaging, subject-relevant lectures and practical workshops that inspire students and equip them with cutting-edge skills.
  2. Provide personalised academic support, mentoring, and guidance to local and international students through their projects, offering constructive feedback to foster innovation and technical proficiency.
  3. Contribute to the design and development of accredited higher education curriculum, ensuring it meets standards and industry trends, collaborating with industry professionals to integrate emerging technologies and techniques into course content.
  4. Actively promote SAE's achievements, students, and staff within the professional community to strengthen the Institute's profile, engaging with the wider industry to maintain strong connections to current practices and opportunities.
  5. Contribute to academic research and industry engagement, leveraging connections within the technology sector to enrich the learning experience and promote student opportunities.
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate can demonstrate skills and experience in a selection of the following criteria:

  1. A postgraduate qualification, Masters level (or higher)
  2. A high level of professional industry practice or academic experience
  3. Teaching or training experience in higher education or professional environments
  4. Experience in IT and Cyber Security Fundamentals
  5. Technical Knowledge in cybersecurity principles, networking, databases (SQL), hardware, and software fundamentals.
  6. Ability to convey foundational IT and cybersecurity concepts effectively and guide students through practical exercises
  7. Knowledge of software development fundamentals
  8. Strong understanding of software development life cycles, especially Agile methodologies, and familiarity with tools such as JIRA
  9. Experience in software development or systems analysis, including requirements gathering and project scoping using Agile frameworks
  10. Excellent communication skills to teach both technical and collaborative aspects of software development with real-world relevance
  11. Proficiency with industry-standard tools like JIRA, Trello, or similar Agile management software
  12. Passion for helping students reach their full potential and providing an outstanding student experience
  13. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with excellent organisational and communication abilities
