Job Title:
Retail Pharmacy Operations DirectorWe are seeking a Retail Pharmacy Operations Director with extensive experience in pharmacy operations, business acumen, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
This key leadership role requires overseeing retail and specialty pharmacy divisions to ensure compliance, efficiency, and financial performance while fostering a positive work environment.
- Lead daily operations of retail and specialty pharmacy divisions
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff (pharmacists and technicians) ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with company values and goals
- Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws, regulations, and licensing requirements
- Analyze financial reports to drive profitability and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Collaborate with the billing team to reduce write-offs and improve accuracy
- Optimize workflow and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
- Maintain readiness for audits and inspections while ensuring excellent patient and customer service
- Foster relationships with referral sources and external partners to drive business growth
- Actively participate in business development through industry events, conferences, and training opportunities
Requirements:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or higher required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- Prior pharmacy operations experience strongly preferred
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, systems, and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Strong analytical skills to read and interpret pharmacy system reports and financial statements
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset
- Ability to implement continuous improvement in operational processes
