About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recruitment Training Officer to join our Foster Care team in Emerald. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough initial assessments of potential foster carers to determine their capacity to meet the standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Department of Communities Child Safety Services Quality Care Training package in accordance with Departmental and agency standards.
  • Design and coordinate training programs based on needs analysis and individual learning plans.
  • Review existing training programs and upgrade as required.
  • Assist program staff with advice on training methods and techniques.
  • Prepare and deliver relevant training programs to increase carer and staff knowledge and understanding of child protection and trauma impacts.
  • Develop and enhance recruitment strategies to increase the number of potential and approved Foster, Kinship and Intensive Carers.
  • Assess potential Carer risks using analytical and investigative skills.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Community Services (Child Protection/Child Youth and Family Intervention) or equivalent with significant experience in a similar field.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain within the probationary period.
