Final Layout Artist

This role is ideal for a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual who can handle the responsibilities of finalizing set dressing, camera work, and casting to ensure all components are ready for the final stages of production.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Refine cinematic staging as directed by the Layout Supervisor or Director, ensuring that the overall vision is achieved through careful attention to detail and technical skills.
  • Work closely with the Final Layout Lead and Supervisor to finalize camera setups, including framing, angles, and movement, to enhance storytelling and visual impact.
  • Polish set dressing, ensuring that all elements are visually cohesive and aligned with the director's vision, maintaining continuity and consistency throughout the production.
  • Document the final layout process to ensure clarity across the team, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain clear updates, progress, and potential challenges, fostering a productive work environment.
  • Clearly understand the creative and technical requirements of a sequence and deliver these goals in a timely manner and to the highest standard, meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Keep informed about the production status of elements within the shots, ensuring all visual elements are technically sound and ready for the final stages of the production.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years experience working in Final Layout on feature animated films, animated TV series, or feature VFX films, with a strong aptitude for detail and process.
  • Proficiency in Maya and knowledge of Blender recommended, with working knowledge of camera animation, scene setup, and set dressing.
  • Ability to produce high-level camera work with an in-depth knowledge of camera polishing, framing, composition techniques, and cinematography.
  • An understanding of editing and ensuring continuity over a sequence of shots and the film would be an advantage, with ability to work solo as well as collaboratively.
  • Open to new workflows and tool sets, with a flexible approach and ability to achieve deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work across multiple areas.
