Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Capital Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our actuarial department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our capital management models.

Your primary responsibilities will include updating and developing these models, preparing reports, and identifying potential risks that may impact our liability reporting obligations. You will also be responsible for executing capital model runs, including parameterisation and validation, as well as communicating your findings to internal stakeholders.

In addition to these core duties, you will have the opportunity to undertake data and statistical analysis, identify areas for efficiency and methodology enhancements, and incorporate expert knowledge of actuarial methodologies into your analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update, develop, and review capital management models
  • Prepare reports and identify potential risks
  • Execute capital model runs and communicate results
  • Undertake data and statistical analysis
  • Identify areas for efficiency and methodology enhancements
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Ideal Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) or equivalent
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision making
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgements and solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with specialised tools such as ResQ software
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries, and service providers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and empower people to develop individual and team potential
