About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Worker or Peer Worker to join our Taree team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with lived experience of mental health issues to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to individuals, focusing on their strengths and recovery goals.
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans, working collaboratively with the person and their network.
  • Facilitate shared learning experiences, skill development, and self-directed learning opportunities.
  • Ensure that support is provided in a strengths-based and person-led manner, respecting the individual's autonomy and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of a recovery-focused culture within the organisation, promoting a culture of hope, empowerment, and inclusivity.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV or above in a relevant field, or a minimum of 2 years' full-time experience working in the human services field.
  • A strong commitment to recovery-based practice and a willingness to use lived experience to inform and contribute to staff learning and service development.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by people with lived experience of mental health issues and a demonstrated ability to work in a strengths-based and person-led manner.
  • Demonstrated alignment to Flourish Australia's values and a commitment to promoting a culture of hope, empowerment, and inclusivity.

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate IV or above in a relevant field OR a minimum of 2-years full-time experience working in the human services field (as recognised by Flourish Australia)
  • A strong commitment to recovery-based practice in the workplace.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issues
  • Demonstrated alignment to Flourish Australia's values.
  • Understanding of, and ability to effectively use, Microsoft Office and knowledge of data information management systems.
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence.
