Key Position: Regional Underwriting Manager

The role is open for an experienced Regional Underwriting Manager who can assume responsibility and oversee the underwriting operations in the Northern Region. This professional must be skilled, organized, and willing to take on challenges.

Our team is seeking someone with a proven track record of successful underwriting experience in managing new and renewal business relationships in NSW and QLD. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and strong leadership qualities.

Responsibilities:

  • To conduct thorough risk assessments for businesses operating in NSW and QLD and identify necessary action plans to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the National Underwriting Manager to develop and implement strategies for expanding the business within the region.
  • Manage risks within the region according to established guidelines and service standards.
  • Develop marketing activities to promote optimal distribution solutions for products.
  • Monitor and report claims activity across the portfolio.
  • Lead and manage the regional team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of existing broker/client relationships.
  • Experience in managing teams or demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Accountability and willingness to grow with the organization.
  • Flexibility, multitasking capabilities, and timely delivery of initiatives.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of work experience in ANZ region, specifically in Directors and Officers insurance markets.
  • Tertiary degree in finance, commerce, law, accounting, or related field.
  • Professional certifications within the insurance industry (preferred but not essential).
